Description:

The Ontario Library Association’s Reader’s Advisory Committee will share ways in which their libraries have been providing Reader’s Advisory in these extraordinary times. From turning to new technologies, to rethinking old techniques, you will walk away with  an understanding of how you can continue to provide reader’s advisory services at a time when our patrons need to feel connected more than ever.

About the presenters:

Kat Drennan-Scace is a branch manager at the Hamilton Public Library. While she is a new member of the OLA Reader’s Advisory Committee, she has always enjoyed sharing Reader’s Advisory tips formally and informally throughout her twelve year career. Her go-to genres include science fiction, fantasy, memoirs and mysteries.

Reagan Kapasi is a Children’s Librarian at the Riverdale branch of the Toronto Public Library. She has been a member of OLA’s Reader’s Advisory Committee since 2017 in addition to her work as a children’s book reviewer for CM: Canadian Review of Materials and a Health and Wellness blogger for Toronto Public Library. She has recently delved into listening to audiobooks so she has a spare hand to tend to her new child and enjoys books read by the author most of all.
