Sowing Seeds in the Gaps: Growing Library Access with Migrant Farmworkers

Date & Time:

Tuesday, September 14 at 12-1 p.m. ET

Description:

Every year, thousands of migrant farm workers come to Canada to work on farms and in greenhouses. This webinar invites library staff in agricultural areas to learn more about their migrant farmworker neighbours and how to work together to identify and address gaps in services and build a more accessible, inclusive library community.

About the Presenters:

Kit Andres and Syed Hussan work at the Migrant Workers Alliance. They support migrant workers to stand up against bad bosses and fix problems with immigration. They work towards building migrant power by bringing together workers on farms, in factories, on campuses and in communities to create the change they want. They work with Indigenous, labour, climate, and faith allies to build a better world for everyone.
